DEMOLITION OF ILLEGAL STRUCTURES AT SANGO BY AKURE NORTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT

A demolition exercise of illegal structures was carried out today at Songo along Ado Ekiti road where some suspected bandits have been taken shelter before carrying out their hineous acts.

The exercise under the supervision of the Akure North Local Government Chairman, Hon. Ogunbolude Johnson, some local government officials and a joint task force of security agencies commenced at about 9:30 am. A prior notice was sent to the illegal occupants of these structures to vacate the premises, but fell on their deaf ears which prompted a proactive action by the Chairman and his team to do the needful.

The chairman while addressing the press thanked the governor Hon. Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa for his commitment and dedication to the safety of lives and properties of Ondo State citizens. He also expressed his gratitude to the governor for approving the demolition exercise without hesitation.

He further stated that this exercise was carried out due to security tips from some patriotic citizens and the security reports from the security agencies. He promised to always prioritize the safety of lives and properties of the citizens of Akure North Local Government.

Asked whether the place will be left empty, the chairman said he would go back to the drawing board and workout modalities on how the space can be used to benefit the people of Akure North Local Government rather than being occupied by miscreants.
