Ayedatiwa Refutes Security Vote Allegations, Criticizes Agboola’s Understanding of Governance in Ondo Gubernatorial Debate

In the recent debate ahead of the November 16 governorship election in Ondo State, candidate Lucky Ayedatiwa firmly denied claims of receiving a monthly security vote of N1.2 billion. His opponent, former Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi, raised the issue, accusing Ayedatiwa of financial opacity in handling security funds. However, Ayedatiwa refuted this, stressing his commitment to transparent governance and stating that his financial dealings have been conducted within the framework of due process.

Ayedatiwa further criticized Ajayi, claiming that he lacked a fundamental understanding of governmental operations and policies. According to Ayedatiwa, Ajayi’s assertions are a clear sign of his unfamiliarity with the state’s governance procedures and the responsibilities required of a leader. Ayedatiwa urged voters to see through what he described as Ajayi’s misinformed attacks, which he said serve only to mislead the public rather than contribute to the development of Ondo State.

On matters of security, Ayedatiwa boasted of Ondo’s reputation as one of the safest places to live in Nigeria. He highlighted that under his administration, measures have been taken to strengthen law enforcement, enhance community vigilance, and foster a culture of safety across the state. According to Ayedatiwa, these proactive measures have been instrumental in reducing crime rates and ensuring peace in Ondo State.

Ayedatiwa concluded by reassuring citizens that his administration would continue prioritizing security, accountability, and transparency. He promised to build on the achievements already in place, emphasizing his vision for a stable and prosperous Ondo State.

Guber poll: Aiyedatiwa tested, trusted, says Kogi Gov

As the November 16 gubernatorial election in Ondo State draws closer, members of the Ebira community in the State have endorsed Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as their preferred candidate.

Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State, who led the gathering of Ebira indigenes on Saturday in Owo, spoke passionately on behalf of the community, drumming support for Governor Aiyedatiwa.

“We, the entire Ebira community across Ondo State, have resolved to support and vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the coming election in this State.

“Governor Aiyedatiwa, the Ebira community stands with you; we are here in solidarity because we believe in continuity. Since the passing of the late Governor Akeredolu, you have upheld his legacies and continued the good work he started.

“You have been tested and trusted, and that is why we are 100 percent behind you. The Ebira people are solidly with you, and we will ensure victory come November 16,” he stressed.

In his response, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude for the community’s support and praised President Tinubu’s commitment to Ondo State’s economic development.

“President Tinubu has continuously shown interest in our state’s progress. Since his assumption of office, he has never wavered in his support for us,” Aiyedatiwa noted.

He also commended Governor Ododo for his exemplary leadership, saying, “I appreciate the Kogi State Governor for managing his state with the strength of youth and the wisdom of elders.”

Reflecting on the APC primary election in Ondo State, which Governor Ododo chaired, Aiyedatiwa expressed confidence in a free, fair and transparent electoral process in November.

The Ondo Governor expressed his appreciation for the Ebira community’s solidarity and reassured them of inclusiveness in his administration.

The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olayide Adelami, thanked Governor Ododo for his love for Aiyedatiwa and the APC.

“Having left your state to come mobilise your people for the success of our party in the forthcoming election, it is obvious that you truly love our party and my principal, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

“Today, you have shown commitment to the economic development of your people both at home and away from home; this is the quality of a good leader, and our administration shall not relent in the recognition and inclusion of non-indigenes in decision making in this state,” Adelami said.

*VIDEO NEWS: Major Blocked Drainage Cleared as DHDEI and Partners Conduct Klean-Up Akoko Exercise in Akungba-Akoko; Next Exercise Set for Ayede-Ogbese on November 30th

The Dakiz Human Development and Empowerment Initiative (DHDEI), in collaboration Federal Government Agencies, Federal Road Safety Corp and Environment Health Workers and other local organizations such as the Akoko South West Youth Forum, YAN Ondo North, Akungba Youths Forum, etc organized a successful “Klean-Up Akoko” exercise in Akungba-Akoko.

The initiative, focused on environmental sanitation and safety, aimed at enhancing public health and reducing traffic hazards caused by blocked drainage systems.

The exercise began at exactly 7:00 a.m. at the main gate of Adekunle Ajasin University, with particular attention given to a long-neglected accident spot where a trailer had been abandoned in a drainage for years.

This site had accumulated a heavy growth of weeds, posing severe drainage and safety issues in the area. Volunteers and officials worked diligently for over two hours, ultimately clearing the blocked drainage and restoring proper water flow.

Although the clean-up exercise was originally scheduled to conclude at Supara-Akoko Junction, significant time was devoted to clearing the accident site, which had been a major safety concern.

The operation officially concluded at Ibaka Market by 10:30 a.m., leaving a positive impact on the local environment and significantly reducing the risks posed by flooding and drainage overflow in the area.

DHDEI and its partners have announced that the next Klean-Up Akoko event will take place on Saturday, November 30, 2024, in Ayede-Ogbese, with expectations of further community participation and support.

The initiative continues to emphasize the importance of community involvement in promoting a cleaner, safer environment across Ondo State.

When, while the lovely valley teems with vapor around me, and the meridian sun strikes the upper surface of the impenetrable foliage of my trees, and but a few stray gleams steal into the inner sanctuary, I throw myself down among the tall grass by the trickling stream; and, as I lie close to the earth, a thousand unknown plants are noticed by me: when I hear the buzz of the little world among the stalks, and grow familiar with the countless indescribable forms of the insects and flies, then I feel the presence of the Almighty, who formed us in his own image, and the breath of that universal love which bears and sustains us, as it floats around us in an eternity of bliss; and then, my friend, when darkness overspreads my eyes, and heaven and earth seem to dwell in my soul and absorb its power, like the form of a beloved mistress, then I often think with longing, Oh, would I could describe these conceptions, could impress upon paper all that is living so full and warm within me, that it might be the mirror of my soul, as my soul is the mirror of the infinite God!

O my friend — but it is too much for my strength — I sink under the weight of the splendor of these visions! A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was created for the bliss of souls like mine. I am so happy, my dear friend, so absorbed in the exquisite sense of mere tranquil existence, that I neglect my talents. I should be incapable of drawing a single stroke at the present moment; and yet I feel that I never was a greater artist than now. When, while the lovely valley teems with vapor around me, and the meridian sun strikes the upper surface of the impenetrable foliage of my trees, and but a few stray gleams steal into the inner sanctuary, I throw myself down among the tall grass by the trickling stream; and, as I lie close to the earth, a thousand unknown plants are noticed by me: when I hear the buzz of the little world among the stalks, and grow familiar with the countless indescribable forms of the insects and flies, then I feel the presence of the Almighty, who formed us in his own image, and the breath of that universal love which bears and sustains us, as it floats around us in an eternity of bliss; and then, my friend, when darkness overspreads my eyes, and heaven and earth seem to dwell in my soul and absorb its power, like the form of a beloved mistress, then I often think with longing, Oh, would I could describe these conceptions, could impress upon paper all that is living so full and warm within me.
